All people pass through difficult times in their lives which may be distressing but it also provides an opportunity to change and grow. Counseling can provide a means to gain awareness, build resiliency and more effective problem solving skills and move through life transitions and improve personal relationships.

If you are willing to explore issues with a qualified therapist, the Community Counseling Program is able to provide that extra insight, encouragement and support and provide education on improving coping skills which you might need when facing a challenging situation or feel ready to move in a new direction in your life.

The Community Counseling Program can provide both individual and marital counseling and/or family counseling as well as make referrals to other resources in order to assist with challenges such as: anxiety, stress, depression, grief and loss, relationship and marital issues, family conflicts, parenting issues and any life change or transition.

Free voluntary counseling services are provided by the Community Counseling Program for active duty military, ( Marines, Soldiers, etc.) their dependents, retirees, and reserve military personnel and their family members.

The counselors who are available to assist those seeking services are professionals, licensed by their respective State Boards and who have also been credentialed by HQMC. Counseling is usually short term, solution focused and focused more on the here and now than the past. The coping skills taught are evidenced based through years of research.
