Early childhood programs accredited by NAEYC have voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study and improvement. Each NAEYC-accreditation program must meet all 10 of the NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards.

NAEYC Accreditation is valid for five years. During that period, programs make annual reports documenting that they maintain compliance with the program standards. All NAEYC-accreditation programs are also subject to unannounced visits by NAEYC assessors.

Parents from all programs, including the Child Development Center, School Age Care, Youth Activities Center, and Family Care are offered the opportunity to be involved, actively and directly, in quality assurance initiatives and provide feedback to staff and providers from a parental perspective. The Parent Advisory Boards meets on a quarterly basis. The Parent Advisory Board is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing implementation of the parent participation program. Activities for parents include volunteer activities, special program events, and parent education programs in coordination with Child, Youth, and Teen Programs. If you’re interested in joining the Parent Advisory Board, please contact (760) 577-6804.
