Repatriation is the liaison between the Marine Corps, the U.S. Government, and the next of kin of all Marines unaccounted for from previous conflicts. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency-West (DPAA-W), Central Identification Laboratory (CIL) notifies Headquarters Marine Corps Casualty Repatriation Section when an unaccounted for Marine has been recovered and identified. Headquarters Marine Corps Casualty Repatriation Section will coordinate presentation/delivery of this information to the Primary Next of Kin of the Marine's family.
